Abstract
A technique utilizing antigen-coated charcoal particles for antibody detections is presented. The stability of the suspension of charcoal particles, provided by a commercial india ink preparation, allows an easy and simplified method of antibody detection. Its application to antigen-antibody systems requiring lower values of pH can be envisaged. When used in the detection of the Rheumatoid Factor in patients with typical Rheumatoid Arthritis and in a general hospital population the test showed a promising degree of sensitivity.
