Abstract

Three new Polyoxometalate-based compounds, namely [Ag2(dpq)][(Mo3O10)] (1), [(dpq)2(H4SiMo12O40)]·8H2O (2) and [Ag2(dpq)2(H2SiMo12O40)] (3) (dpq = 2,3-Di-pyridin-2-yl-quinoxaline), have been hydrothermally synthesized by using a double chelate ligand and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis, IR spectra and elemental analyses. Compounds 1 and 2 were obtained under the same conditions except for different pH. In compound 1, there are infinite Mo-O chains {Mo3O10}x2x− linked by double chelate dpq ligands to construct a 2D layer. Compound 2 shows a supramolecular layer through hydrogen bonding interactions. When the reactive time was changed from 3d for discrete 2 to 4d, a new compound 3 was obtained. In 3, adjacent Keggin anions are connected by a pair of [Ag(dpq)]+ subunits to form a 1D chain. In addition, we also investigated the electrochemical and photocatalytic properties of compounds 1–3.
