Abstract

Photoactivatable Metallopolymer In article number 2103334, Zhiyong Wei, Yang Li, Wen Sun, and co-workers demonstrate the on-demand release of photosensitizers and anticancer drugs based on photoactivatable metallopolymer Poly(Ru/PTX). Red light irradiation of polymer nanoparticles directly cleaves the Ru complex and produces 1O2 for photodynamic therapy, and sequentially, the generated 1O2 triggers the release of drugs for chemotherapy. This novel sequential dual-model release strategy creates a synergistic chemo-photodynamic therapy while minimizing the drug leakage.
