Abstract

This letter presents a novel sequential black-start restoration model to improve the system resilience after a natural disaster in an active distribution network. Two challenges have been addressed: First, a new set of radiality constraints is designed as the network topology is changing along the restoration paths; Second, a black-start restoration model is proposed where multiple backup black-start units in the system are coordinated to find the best restoration paths. Case studies on two IEEE test systems verify the effectiveness of the proposed model.
