Abstract

The semi-classical Deutsch Märk (DM) formalism for the calculation of absolute cross-sections for the single ionization of atoms has been extended empirically to the calculation of cross-sections for the ionization of clusters. Comparison with the absolute effective ionization cross-sections measured for various average cluster size distributions for H 2 and CO 2 clusters shows good agreement with the present calculations.
