Abstract

Abstract Periodic evaluation of graduate degree programs in health education is important and necessary in order to maintain the quality of faculty, students, and curriculum. A review of professional preparation literature indicated that there was an absence of evaluation instruments specifically designed for graduate programs in health education. We constructed and validated a program evaluation instrument for internal and/or external evaluation of graduate programs in health education at the masters and/or doctoral level. The methodology used included a review of the literature on program evaluation in health education, instrument development, and instrument evaluation. The instrument's format was reviewed by two individuals with expertise in program evaluation and instrument construction. The instrument was validated by a jury of experts responsible for graduate programs in health education
