Abstract

A self-oscillating switching power amplifier is proposed. We use feedback to reduce the output DC bias current and to produce self-oscillation. Further, filters are added in the feedback loop to reduce the quantization noise. The experimental results show that the proposed circuit has 0.25% total harmonic distortion (THD) and the efficiency of output power of 840 μW reaches 90.1% while the DC output bias current is 8 μA and the supply voltage is 1.5 V.
