Abstract

The Hall anomaly is studied in the framework of a flux motion model proposed by Wang et al. [Phys. Rev. Lett. 72, (1994) 3875] for a type-II superconductor. A self-consistent solution and a linear response explicit solution for the longitudinal and the transverse resistivities are found to exist in some cases. The analytical solutions are compared with Monte Carlo simulations to check the reliability. By utilizing the explicit solution, we are able to reproduce the essential features of the Hall anomaly in related experiments qualitatively and even quantitatively.
