Abstract

A self-consistent analysis of the impurity dynamics for bulk and scrape-off layer (SOL) plasmas in the Frascati Tokamak Upgrade (FTU) is presented. The model is based on a O-D description of the plasma transport in the tokamak centre and on a l-D model of the SOL plasma dynamics. The FTU configuration with a poloidal Inconel limiter is considered. Preliminary calculations for the configuration with the molybdenum and tungsten limiter plates are also presented. A comparison with the experimental data shows good agreement with the results of the model
