Abstract

A solid-phase microextraction (SPME) procedure has been proposed for the extraction of a trace amount of lead from the environmental samples using magnetic cellulose nanoparticles (Cell-MNPs) as adsorbent material. Synthesized cell-MNPs was characterized by FTIR, SEM—EDX, XRD, and BET. Different analytical parameters were optimized such as pH, adsorbent amount, adsorption time, desorption time, eluent type, eluent volume, model solution amount, and matrix ions effects for the selective and sensitive extraction of lead (II) from the environmental samples. The limit of detection and limit of quantification were found to 8.9 and 29.7 µgL−1 for the lead (II). Cell-MNPs was successfully applied for solid-phase extraction of lead (II) from the water and tea samples.
