Abstract
The Lower Cretaceous deposits are the least studied interval of the section opened by drilling in the Barents Sea. Based on the principles of seismostratigraphy and sequence stratigraphy, the geological structure of the Lower Cretaceous deposits is studied. The distinguished complexes and sequences are considered as the main sedimentary complexes that formed at different stages of the regional geological evolution and, hence, possess different hydrocarbon prospects.
