Abstract
A secure scheme based clusters for wireless sensor networks is presented. The three-dimension sensing cube is divided into a number of clusters, each of which is comprised of eight small cubes called cells. The structure of WSNs is a two-layer structure. The upper layer contains all cluster heads and the lower layer contains all ordinary sensors managed by corresponding cluster heads. The cluster heads set up their pairwise keys by employing a key pre-distribution scheme based on cluster head identifications and the ordinary sensors establish their pairwise keys through utilizing a dynamic key management strategy based on the key management scheme, exclusion-based systems (EBSs). Analysis demonstrates that this scheme improves the security for WSNs, reduces communication expenditure both in upper layer and lower layer, saves cluster head and sensor energy consumption, and prolongs the lifetime of cluster heads and sensors.
