Abstract
This paper proposes a new color image encryption scheme using two efficient chaotic maps and advanced encryption standard (AES). Firstly, this scheme permutes the intensity values of the pixels using the henon chaotic map and then using the logistic chaotic map. Subsequently, the pixel values are altered using a symmetric encryption algorithm. We test the proposed scheme on standard images. Performance and security analysis show that the proposed scheme achieves good encryption result. The key space of the proposed scheme is large enough to withstand common security attacks. Histogram analysis section depicts there exists a considerable difference between the original and the cipher image. Thus, in this image encryption scheme, it is not an easy task for the attacker to guess the original image from the cipher image. Various security and performance results confirm that the scheme can be applied in practical applications as it is efficient and secure.
