Abstract

Between 13 January 1993 and 24 December 1993, BATSE detected 340 cataloged gamma-ray bursts and triggered six times on events from SGR 1806—20. The availability of (almost) continuous background data from the BATSE detectors permits a search for events that did not meet the on-board trigger criteria. As part of an on-going program, we have searched nearly one year of data both for possible fainter emission from soft gamma-ray repeaters or other sources (seen only in the low energy channel, 20–50 keV) and for untriggered cosmic gamma-ray bursts (seen in the burst energy channels, 50–300 keV).
