Abstract This study presents sensitive millimeter wavelength observations of eight Ursa Major stream stars, designed to detect the presence of molecular material resident in persistent outer remnant disks. No emission arising from gaseous remnants of circumstellar disks was found. The candidates range in spectral type from K3 to A7, covering a mass range from 0.7 to 2 solar masses. Disks larger than about 350 AU could not have escaped detection if they were optically thick at the 115 GHz line of (C-12)O, implying a limiting CO mass of less than 6 x 10 exp 24 g for a distributed component of this size. If the CO/H2 ratio is comparable to that observed in the interstellar medium, then the total outer disk masses must be less than 3 x 10 exp -5.
