Abstract

ABSTRACT Fifteen F- and G-type supergiants were surveyed for photometric variability. Eleven were found to be constant, including five bright stars (Alpha Per, Mu Per, Beta Cam, Epsilon Gem, Epsilon Leo) previously suspected of variability. The other four (HD 161796, 89 Her, HR 8752, and Rho Cas) were already known to be variable. The present observations confirm the variability, which is characterized by irregularity, small amplitude (0.1 to 0.3 magnitude), and long period (40 to 400 days).
