Abstract
Objective: Early diagnosis of biliary atresia (BA) is mandatory and challenging at once. A few scoring systems had been proposed over the last decades but none of them was routinely applied. Recently a new one was proposed by El Guindi et al. on the basis of some well known clinical, biochemical, ultrasonographic and histological features (1) of BA. The aim of our study is to evaluate the ability of this scoring system to differentiate AVB from other conditions of neonatal cholestasis.
