Abstract
Purpose: We developed a novel model implementing the concept that the relative importance of a given subvolume within a clinical target volume (CTV) depends on the probability of microscopic tumor extension and lymph node metastasis. This probability was derived from clinical pathological data and is expressed as a function of distance from the surface of gross tumor.
