Abstract

In continuation of former investigations by Ben-Artzi, Ellis, Gohbebg and Lay several versions of maximum distance problems in Hilbert space will be studied with the aid of Schur analysis of non-negative Hermitian block matrices. Moreover, the results will be interpreted in the light of prediction theory.
