Abstract
R. Scott Appleby is rightly celebrated for his legendary scholarly accomplishments and his many path-breaking initiatives while directing the Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies at the University of Notre Dame and, more recently, the university's Keough School of Global Affairs. However his personal influence extends well beyond his widely-lauded scholarly accomplishments.
