Abstract

Photovoltaic output has strong randomness and volatility. Research on the scenario reduction method of PV output is of great significance for the planning, design, and operation of power grids. This paper proposes Nonlinear Brain Storm Optimizer (NBSO) to improve the k-means algorithm, and uses the Standard Deviation Based Index (STDI) to evaluate the effectiveness of clustering. The simulation results show that the clustering method proposed in this paper can effectively reduce the PV output scenes, and the generated typical scene set can fit the output volatility and diversity of the initial scenes.
