Abstract
Abstract The plan of sampling inspection, described for individual parts, subassemblies, finished articles, and the like, is intended primarily for use in process inspection where there must be assurance that the percentage of defective units is kept down to a low prescribed figure. The system is particularly applicable to products manufactured by conveyer or similar straight-line continuous processes. The object of the plan is to establish a limiting value of “average outgoing quality,” expressed as a percentage of defective units, which will not be exceeded no matter what quality may be submitted to the inspector.
