Abstract

A design which combines an environmentally controlled rubidium standard with a Global Positioning System (GPS) time transfer receiver in order to achieve good short-term and long-term stability is presented. The stability advantages as well as its lower cost, full automation, and the removal of frequency and time accuracy limitations are discussed. Some disadvantages such as the need for a controlled rubidium environment are discussed. Experimental results and methods of implementation are described. >
