Abstract

A path selecting scheme based on energy and load is proposed in order to avoid the case that a part of nodes may be out of energy that was common in many existing routing protocols which were used in wireless sensor network. This algorithm tries to get a balance between energy and load of nodes, so as to achieve the target of the average distribution of energy consumption in wireless sensor network. An energy and load balance routing protocol (AODV-EL) based on AODV is designed furthermore. Simulation result shows that AODV-EL outperforms AODV in the longevity of the sensor networks, the loss ratio of packet and the throughput of the networks.
