Abstract

Routing in wireless mesh networks based on cognitive radio environment is a challenge due to dynamic channel selection. When nodes look for routing and schedule channels, channel allocation seems unbalanced sometimes. To increase the utility of unlicensed bands and increase the throughput with the learning mechanism, a route tree-based channel assignment algorithm, which is based on channel statics metric with priorities while the common control channel is not needed, is proposed in this paper. Each node accesses AP in fewer hops in the process of route tree initialization. This scheme may handle the unbalanced channel allocation problem. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can not only increase the throughput performance but also reduce network time-delay.
