Abstract
The goal of Quality of Service (QoS) routing solutions for ad-hoc wireless networks is to satisfy the QoS requirements for each admitted connection, while achieving the global efficiency in resource utilization. It is the first step to obtain the guaranteed end-to-end QoS in Mobile Ad-Hoc Networks (MANETs). Therefore, the routing path should be designed accordingly. In this paper, we present a routing scheme intended to provide Soft QoS or better than best effort service by considering the bandwidth and delay metrics. Here, by measuring the bandwidth periodically and by subsequent route discovery process on the basis of QoS Route Optimization Factor (QROF), we have developed an adaptive routing model which enhances the QoS provisioning in comparison to existing models. The considerations of route restructuring in case of loss of QoS and low battery life provides a stable route for real time multimedia transmission.
