Abstract

Performance evaluation for multicast routing strategies is still an unexplored field in delay and disruption tolerant networks (DTNs) and faces great challenges. In this paper, we proposed a rough set approach to performance evaluation for multicast routing strategies in DTNs. The proposed approach constructs an evaluation index system for DTN multicast routing based on an analytic hierarchy process. Rough set theory is applied to explore the evaluation index data of multicast routing. Furthermore, the concept of information entropy is introduced to determine the weighting coefficients of evaluation indexes and the subjectivity that influences the determination of weighting coefficients is effectively reduced. Experimental results show that the proposed approach is feasible and effective.
