Abstract
The origin band near 882 nm in the A ̃ 1A″- X ̃ 1A′ system of NCNO has been recorded using a Fourier transform spectrometer. The rotational structure has been analyzed in detail, and requires high-order terms in the rotational Hamiltonian to account for the gross centrifugal distortion. The rotational and centrifugal constants are used in a discussion of the possible excited state geometry and force field.
