Abstract

This paper describes the development and application of a robust fault reconstruction scheme to a nonlinear aeroengine model using a sliding mode observer. The fault reconstruction is obtained from scaling the so-called equivalent output error injection. The observer and the scaling are designed so that the L/sub 2/ gain from the system uncertainty to the fault reconstruction is minimised.
