Abstract

When the maximal length sequence correlation (MLC) technique is applied to the secondary path modeling (SPM) for narrowband active noise control (ANC) systems, the system performance is easily affected by narrowband signals. In order to overcome this shortcoming, the paper proposes a modified MLC (MMLC) SPM technique. This technique can be implemented by using an adaptive prediction filter (APF) to remove the narrowband components in the error signal and a compensation filter (CPF) to modify the distortion of the training signal component due to the APF. The computer simulations confirm that the novel SPM technique can overcome effectively the impact of the narrowband signals on the secondary path modeling of ANC systems and has higher modeling accuracy.
