Abstract

Active noise control (ANC) systems with online secondary-path filter should estimate weights of secondary-path filter and control filter at the same time. It is very difficult to simultaneously estimate the weights of unknown filters because of the mutual disturbances. Moreover, impulsive noises can degrade the performance of the ANC system. In this paper, a stepsize scaler is applied to robustly estimate the weights of the filters in the impulsive noise environments. The stepsize scaler prevents wrong update of the weights by making stepsize be small when the impulsive noises are generated. The stepsize scaler was implemented with the available signals from the ANC system without complex computations. The simulation results showed that the proposed ANC system performs better than other ANC systems in the impulsive noise environments.
