Abstract

(Int J Obstet Anesth. 2020;44:126–130) Up to 4 of 5 cesarean delivery (CD) patients receiving intrathecal morphine are affected by postoperative nausea and/or vomiting (PONV). Existing PONV risk assessment scores including the Apfel score were developed based on the general surgical population, while none have been designed specifically for obstetric patients. This post hoc analysis aimed to develop a PONV prediction model (the Duke score) specifically for the obstetric population and compare it to the Apfel score.
