Abstract

The uniquely Australian genus Odontothripiella is redefined and fourteen new species are described. The monobasic genus Odontothripoides Bagnall is regarded as a synonym and consequently Odontothripiella, morisoni (Bagnall) represents a new combination. O., bispinest (Bagnall) which is based on a single female, is regarded as an aberration of australis (Bagnall). A key is provided to the seventeen species (and bispinosa); the females of five species cannot at present be distinguished from those of australis. Two species are known from males only, two species and bispinosa are known from females only, and one species exhibits sexual dimorphism.
