Abstract

Cloud computing can be defined as an on-demand self-service that measures according to usage metering and can be accessed via different modes. But with the expeditious advancement of distributed computing resources, it is profoundly indispensable to assure the quality of services provided by the service providers. For this objective, assurance is required between various entities in the cloud environment. Various trust evaluation models are developed by observing the historical interaction between entities either directly or indirectly. But so far, no trust evaluation system is developed that efficiently measures the optimal service provider for consumers. This paper explains the cloud computing landscape, presents issues in cloud computing and trust management system. This paper likewise incorporates a review of many existing trust management techniques and finds the various challenges that exist in the trust management system. This paper also defines various QoS parameters that will be evaluated during the evaluation of the trust degree of any service provider. The objective of this paper is to perform an extensive literature survey of various trust management methodologies used in cloud computing.
