Abstract

As we go beyond 5G and towards 6G wireless networks, artificial intelligence and machine learning solutions will be critical for various applications that execute at the edge nodes. This study aims to determine the requirements, applications, and technology of 6G wireless networks utilized in mobile edge computing. The review or systematic mapping research is carried out to synthesize data from 37 studies on future 6G networks from the literature. AI-enabled 6G wireless network communication requirements and technologies are categorized in comprehensive tabular formats. A taxonomy of AI-enabled applications in mobile edge computing is also offered. The results show promising, and AI/ML data-driven technologies are necessary for every 6G wireless network application. In the future, more work needs to be done in the areas of quantum communication and security of 6G wireless networks, in addition to the applicability of cloud, big data, and IoT.
