Abstract

Abstract Inconel alloys are super alloys and with their superior material properties like excellent strength, oxidation and corrosion resistance at high temperatures have applications in various fields like aerospace, nuclear, chemical processing, oil and gas. These alloys are considered to be difficult to machine materials. In recent times there is a growing demand for cost efficient and ecofriendly machining techniques to processes there alloys. This review paper focuses on turning processes of Inconel alloys under different cutting environments and varying machining parameters. The effects of Dry, MQL, nano-MQL and Cryogenic cooling methods with different cooling fluids on machining parameters are presented. Finite element models are formulated and are validated with the experimental results.
