Abstract

Diabetic Retinopathy is a disease related to eyes caused due to diabetes. It leads to permanent vision loss if not treated at an early stage. Grading of fundus image helps in the treatment for diabetic retinopathy and reduces the chances of lifelong loss of vision. The grading algorithm decides severity of DR from fundus image. The image processing methods are used for the automatic detection and grading of severity level of diseases related to eyes such as DR .The significant and deciding objects like optic disc, macula are segmented from fundus image. This objects are consider while grading. This paper describes the various methods used for the optic disc, macula, red lesion and exudates detection and segmentation. This methods Comparative study of accuracy of different methods is done.
