Abstract

Due to the process of economic and industrial development since the 20th century, humans worldwide are facing severe environmental pollution problems. The key to the photocatalytic degradation of pollutants is to develop advanced semiconductor materials and optimize the photocatalytic reaction process. Bismuth molybdate (Bi2MoO6) has become an excellent semiconductor material for the degradation of contaminants due to its suitable band gap, high stability and nontoxicity. The structure and degradation process of Bi2MoO6 are briefly introduced in this review. Then the effects of modification treatment, reaction conditions, synergy with other systems and the addition of carriers on the photocatalytic degradation of pollutants by Bi2MoO6 are summarized in detail. Finally, the challenges faced by Bi2MoO6-based photocatalysts in photocatalysis technology are discussed, and future development prospects have prospected. It is hoped that this review can provide insights and inspiration for the development of Bi2MoO6 in the field of photocatalysis.
