Abstract
The Internet of Things (IoT) refers to the convergence of smart objects with the Internet to make our surroundings smarter, autonomous, and efficient for human life. Despite the several benefits of IoT and its applications, the presence of Internet-connected devices has introduced new cyber attacks targeting IoT networks. Several security strategies have been proposed to mitigate the impact of these attacks in designing secure applications. Intrusion detection systems (IDS) and cyber threat intelligence (CTI) are the two important tools that are or can be used to protect IoT networks from various threats and attacks. This chapter aims to highlight in-depth knowledge about various attacks and bring together the present and past advancements in research of IDS and CTI with a focus on IoT-enabled networks. Finally, the purpose of our research is to assist future researchers by identifying security vulnerabilities, open challenges, and future opportunities in IoT security.
