Abstract

In this chapter, we have talked about the importance of data privacy and its security in the healthcare sector. The various methods of healthcare practices in recognition of data security are discussed. The legal regulatory aspects and the significant heart health laws of various countries have been talked about in detail. This article contains known threats and their associated risks in the healthcare services like malware and identity thefts and what new technologies provide to deal with them. A major part of this article deals with cloud computing technology and its importance in the healthcare industry. Different models of cloud computing are discussed along with the opportunities and the threats in healthcare by various aspects including legal, security, management, and technology. As the entire healthcare system focuses mostly on cloud computing which, although unreliable, continues to exist in the system. The best practices for data security in healthcare are also discussed. Here encryption is emphasized along with blockchain technology. As blockchain technology is comparatively new, it is important for more research on this particular topic.
