Abstract
ABSTRACT The characteristics of cold sprayed coatings are explored. The performance of cold spray-coated specimens in the view of microstructure, mechanical and corrosion studies are reviewed. The fundamental knowledge is provided on execution of various characterisation tests. The presence of defects in the cold sprayed coatings is examined and the impact of these defects on the performance of coatings in numerous situations is critically analysed. The methods to improve the performance of cold sprayed coatings are identified. The importance of process parameters, particle size, melting point and hardness is conferred.
