Abstract

Cloud computing (CC) is a growing trend in many fields such as IT sectors, hospitals, finance because of the effective utilization of resources through computation. Every progressing implementation in the cloud faces many challenges like privacy and security of user's data. In a centralized environment, the data can be modified without the knowledge of owner by unauthorized users (i.e. security breach is unavoidable). Therefore, the big challenge in CC is to provide the protection in a better way by maintaining Data Integrity (DI) and Data Confidentiality (DC). In association with this domain, the survey of research activities on security in Cloud Storage (CS) is conducted in this research work. The paper focused on major key security requirements such as DI, DC, and availability is discussed after an overview of CS. The summarization of issues faced by existing approaches for three major security objectives in CS services are discussed in this work.
