Abstract

Solar air heaters are renewable energy thermo technology, used for space heating in which the radiant energy is captured in an absorber plate which is emitted by the sun with the temperature variation of 8×106to 40×106 K in its center.Enhancement of the heat transfer can be done by improving the thermo hydraulic performance of a solar air heater by considering both the thermal and hydraulic characteristics of the collector simultaneously with respect to smooth duct. Absorber plate, a solar thermal collector, is relevant to act as an application of Artificial Roughness, which is the most approved method for the improvement of thermal performance of solar air heaters as it is financial loss due to friction. In addition to this, it is difficult task for the designer to select the optimal roughness geometry for specific Applications. Although, Roughness Geometry and Investigation Techniques gained a notable scientific interest in recent years, still there is a need of significant improvement to cater the wide range of real world problems. This research paper aims to fulfil the identified research gap among the multiple existing researches for the better comparison and estimation of appropriate solar air heater application.
