Abstract

Air pollution is harmful to living environment. The pollution prediction, forecasting, and updation has gained tremendous importance in recent years. Different researchers have introduced different methods for forecasting air pollution. The researchers have classified pollution forecasting into two types such as basic and advanced methods. Gaussian model, Lagrangian model, Box model, and Eulerian model are considered as the basic methods and statistical, 3-dimensional, hybrid, and metrological models are considered as the advanced methods. The traditional basic methods are performed with the help of basic science properties. The advanced methods are performed with the help of basic science and intelligence concepts. In this paper, various advanced techniques with corresponding limitations are summarised, various parameters and metrics for forecasting and future direction of the research are presented.
