Abstract
The genus Neogonatopus Perkins is redescribed. Keys are included to separate genera in the Gonatopodinae and species of Neogonatopus . Seven species are included in the genus as follows: ombrodes Perkins [= punctatus (Fenton)]; contortulus (Patton) ; pallidiceps Perkins; agropyrus (Fenton); niger (Fenton) ; fentoni , n. sp.; and grandis , n. sp. Other species previously placed in Neogonatopus are removed as follows: brunnescens Perkins, erythrodes Perkins and obscurissimus Perkins all transferred to Gonatopus; mimus Perkins transferred to Agonatopus; mimoides Perkins transferred to Epigonatopus; and longitarsus (Ashmead) transferred to either Pseudogonatopus or Haplogonatopus . Illustrations are included for most known males and females of all species. Present distributions and some rearing information are also given.
