Abstract

The freshwater ostracod fauna of New Zealand is reviewed, and a key is given to the 28 known living species, belonging to 18 genera. 10 new species are described, and 8 genera are recorded for the first time from New Zealand. Brief notes on the habitat and life-history of some of the species are given.
