There is a theoretical basis for expecting improved patient outcomes through the use of haemodiafiltration for the treatment of end-stage kidney disease, instead of conventional dialysis. In this article, Marissa Dainton reviews the evidence to date, to see if there is a sufficient data to recommend prescribing one approach over the other.
