Abstract

Club management continues to be an underresearched area of hospitality management. However, in this third review of the literature conducted since 1993, the number of published articles in refereed journals continues to increase. Club management, as a research area, seems to be attracting more interest from academics. Further, the number and types of research topics are also increasing. However, with few exceptions, the research is still largely composed of single one-time studies that lack the benefit of longitudinal studies. This article provides an overview of the club industry, reviews articles published between 2005 and 2014, establishes research themes, identifies research gaps, and makes recommendations for future research.
