Abstract

Transportation activities are among the important economic activities in the country, which contribute with a great role in the development and civilization of countries. The notion of the research is to deal with the documents of the archive group of the Egyptian Ministry of Transportation deposited at the National Archives for analytical critical study for the purpose of monitoring the systems and procedures of archival work that were followed in keeping, organizing, recalling them during a period its retention period from 1920 AD to 1971 AD. by using the analytical descriptive approach and the case study approach, and it is considered to be one of the important archival units in the Egyptian National Archive due to the diversity and distinction of the important information contained in it in writing archival, political and economic history in Egypt in the post-July Revolution 1952 AD. The study reached knowledge of the development of transportation activities in Egypt, the administrative history of the ministry and the development of its organizational structure. As well as introducing the archive unit in terms of construction, composition, quantitative and qualitative assessment, objective content and place of archiving, in addition to a detailed presentation of all stages of the documentary cycle that was followed to manage the Ministry's documents from the stage of creation to the stage of screening, exclusion and deportation, and the study concluded with a presentation of the written devices, tools and printed forms used to complete the work inside the Ministry's archive.
