Abstract
There are significant discrepancies between the narratives of the life of Kwame Ture (1941–1998) as told by himself and that told in the biography “Stokely: A Life” written by historian Peniel Joseph. The discrepancies are concerned with privileging group-centered leadership and hierarchical leadership which Joseph claims Ture promoted.
